"ABE" LINCOLN'S YARNS AND STORIES:
A Complete Collection of the Funny and Witty Anecdotes That Made Lincoln Famous As AMERICA'S GREATEST STORY TELLER

With Introduction and Anecdotes By: Colonel Alexander K. McClure of The Philadelphia Times, A Personal Friend and Adviser of The Story Telling President

Published by Henry Neil, 1901

"The story of Lincoln's life told by himself in his stories. Wit and humor of the War, the Courts, The Backwoods and The White House. Illustrated with one hundred original outline drawings by special artists of scenes and characters in Lincoln's stories, and fifty photograph portraits of the famous men of Lincoln's time and their biographies."

This antique book is in good condition considering it is 117 years old. There is some fading on the decorative and intricate design on the front hard cover, featuring Abe's Portrait. In my opinion, It gives the book a unique antique look, almost a "patina" for books. The spine is a little frayed. Other than that, the book is great. The many pictures and illustrations are glossy and clear. The text is almost pristine. This book would make a wonderful addition to a collection of presidential biographies. It is one of those rare books you would be proud to display front and center on your shelf. It is truly a piece of history.

ANTIQUE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS FOUND INSIDE:
There are 4 very old clippings that I discovered throughout the book, all three have been immaculately preserved between the pages.
One appears to be a clipping from the Evening News of Monroe Michigan. It is a poem titled Abraham Lincoln written by The Rev. Rueben Crosby.
One is a clipping of a photograph of a man I can not identify, that seems to have a signature on the side. (please see photos)
One is an clipping of an illustrated portrait of Lincoln. The name Stern is present in the drawing.
The last clipping is bits and pieces of what appears to be a marathon winner.

Please see photos for more accurate representation of the clippings as well as the condition of the book. They are included as a critical part of the description of this book.

All books will be shipped carefully packaged via media mail, unless otherwise specified. Feel free to message me for more information or photos.
