From the dust jacket:
"If Shakespeare had known as much about Cleopatra as John Balderston and Sybil Bolitho know, he might have painted a far different portrait of that fascinating creature. How vividly indeed these two authors have portrayed her! They know her not only from the Western point of view, but from the Eastern as well. It is likely therefore that you will never find the fictional portrait of such a Cleopatra as this- ardent, intelligent, and superbly feminine. This Cleopatra belongs to the ages. She is one in whom all women will find something of themselves, and all men will find something of the greatest they have known or imagined in womankind. She is truly one of the most intriguing feminine personalities the world has ever known."
